Encouraging healthy hydration, a local NGO and is currently being monitored by Maimonides University. It has been launched in five communities around Nestlé locations – Santo Tomé, Vicente López, Villa Nueva, City of Buenos Aires and Tunuyán having reached already more than 12?000 kids in 2018. Based on four modules, the program covers hydration as well as fruit and vegetables, physical activity and daily meals, with a special focus on breakfast. Three of the modules are digital, and include videos and an interactive game. On completion of the modules, our partner agency visits the school and uses theater to review all the concepts discussed, as well as food groups and hygiene. The digital, interactive nature of the program makes it ideal for engaging children, and perfect for teachers too as it is simple to implement and run.
We’re now planning next steps of the program, including the analysis of surveys of the children that took part last year, and aiming to unifying with Paraguay and Uruguay, as well as using the format for other Nestlé for Healthier Kids activities. The Argentinian Ministry of Education has also declared the program as being of educational interest.
